Abigail's Photo Album, picture 4Although noted for its outstanding quality, elegance and highly personalized service, more than that, the "Elegant Victorian" is a cherished family of warmth, good cheer, and spirited camaraderie - more like a festive vacation with one's best friends.
Abigail's Photo Album, picture 3Your gregarious and congenial hosts will warmly welcome you to their Award-Winning 1888 National Historic Landmark of spectacular gingerbread exteriors, opulent Victorian interiors and antique furnishings.

Abigail's Photo Album, picture 2As a "Living-History" House Museum, the Inn is breath-takingly authentic, with all the nostalgic trimmings of a century ago. This meticulously restored Victorian masterpiece offers history and hospitality, combined with romance and pampering. "It is truly an exceptional work of art, especially for the discriminating connoisseur of authentic Victorian decor." DISCERNING TRAVELER magazine.

Abigail's Photo Album, picture 5Here guests return again and again for that magic blend of friendliness, comfort and luxury. Our home is a haven for the visitor who is thought of as a guest - not a customer; a fellow traveler - not a tourist. It is a place to refresh the spirit and renew your zest for life.
Breakfast is served in the opulent elegance of our High-Victorian Dining Room. Walls are of brocaded French velvet, with hanging Belgian tapestries; floor of Belgian wool Axeminister carpeting; ceiling is of elaborate Bradbury & Bradbury Art Papers in the Anglo-Japanese style. Crystal bedecked Gaslight Chandeliers provide illumination to the elaborate formal Victorian table setting. The view over-looks the Victorian Flower Garden and Croquet Field. Quality CDs provide a soft background of light Classical Music.  Breakfast is joined by the Inn's InnKeepers to provide a joyous reconteur celebration of the new day's bright beginning."

Abigail's Photo Album, picture 6One of three parlors, the "Turkish Sitting Room" screens evening movies from a collection of our 700 films from the 1898-1945 period. Victorian elegance, warmth and history prevail throughout the mansion, which is an Interior Decorator's AWARD-WINNING designer Show-Case of Authentic Victorian Interiors. The Inn has been called "The most authentic Victorian atmosphere in the United States" (Frommer's) and "One of America's most extraordinary accommodations" (WORLD TRAVELER magazine)

The Inn has been featured in AAA TourBook, MOBIL Travel Guides, FROMMER'S Travel Guides, FODOR'S Travel Guides, NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC Travel Guides; and in many magazines, such as: "Architectural Digest", "Discerning Traveler", The WALL STEET JOURNAL'S "Smart Money", World Traveler", "Sunset", and "California". Staying in this room, he and William S. Clark (the mansion's owner, and later Eureka Mayor) explored the possibility of building a railroad from San Francisco to Eureka.  Views of the city, Humboldt Bay, Somoa Peninsula, and in the distance, the Pacific Ocean.
