| All of the rooms are smoke-free and for non-smokers only. Each of the four bedrooms is filled with quiet, unpretentious luxury. Each immaculately clean room has been beautifully restored and tastefully decorated; its original elegance enhanced with the discreet addition of modern conveniences. (To keep you "plugged in" to the modern world, there is free WiFi internet access in all rooms.) All have period furnishings, queen-sized beds (with luxurious new Heirloom mattresses), a desk, a sitting area and a private bath. Most have views overlooking Eureka, Humboldt Bay, the Samoa Peninsula and in the distance, the Pacific Ocean. All are colored with history and famous personalities. (see PHOTO ALBUM for details).
Although noted for its outstanding quality, elegance, and highly personalized service, more than that, the ELEGANT VICTORIAN is a special place of warmth, good cheer and spirited camaraderie. More like a festive vacation with one's best friends, the Inn is a heaven for the visitor who is thought of as a guest - not a customer, a fellow traveler - not a tourist. Finding good spirit, good laughter, and good friends, is always a joy. See a SLIDE SHOW of the inn's interiors and exteriors. Included in your stay are complimentary bicycles, croquet, laundry service, and secured parking; with Ocean views, beaches, antique shops, Humboldt State University and Redwood National Park all nearby. ABOUT BREAKFAST — Although no longer serving breakfast at the Inn, we are close to some very fine breakfast places. Adell's coffee shop is but a 3 minute drive away and was voted the "Best Breakfast Place" in Humboldt County 7 years in a row. A further 10 minutes will take you to the world famous Samoa Cookhouse, famed for its historic and hearty "Logging Camp" breakfasts since 1890 - a fitting compliment to your stay at our historic lodging accommodations. RECREATION & ACTIVITIES: On site: Victorian flower gardens, tennis, antique automobile collection (1910 - 1928), croquet, Victorian board games, screening of silent movies in evening; Nearby: golf, sailing on Humboldt Bay, hiking, whitewater rafting, whale watching, bird watching, horseless carriage rides, and ocean charters. For an added dimension to your Humboldt County experience, the inn also offers an optional addition to your stay at the Victorian mansion. The BACK-COUNTRY WILDERNESS SAFARI is a 4-wheel-drive tour of the most remote regions of Humboldt County. Look for more information about this on our RATES and RESERVATIONS page. |

Interactive Living-History For those guests who would like to add "spice" to their lives, the Inn often-times has its 1928 Ford Model A available for a ride in its "Rumble-Seat", with an adventurous driving tour of historic Eureka. If interested in this ride, be sure to ask about it when making your reservation and again during your Check-In. This antique car ride lasts approximately a half hour; there is a $25 extra charge for this fun-filled nostalgic ride through yester-year. It's all part of the Inn's inter-active, living-history experience. When was the last time you rode in a "Rumble-Seat"? This ride is FREE when staying two or more nights. |
